5 Indianapolis Wedding Venues You Didn't Know About
Finding a wedding venue is hard enough, but with an ongoing global panini-press, everything just got way more tricky. Luckily, Indianapolis has a large selection of amazing wedding venues who will take of you! But Indianapolis is big, and some are surly to fly under the radar. As a wedding videographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with wide array of venues, and here are 5 Indianapolis wedding venues that I just love:
1. 416 WABASH
Located just east of Monument Circle, this bopping-awesome wedding venue has 500 color changing lights in the floors and ceiling! They can seat 175, and have a standing capacity of 588. They have three full bar areas,, a large dance floor, and 14 restrooms plus 1 wheelchair accessible. The owners are super nice and professional. 416 Wabash has the tech know-how to make your wedding look and sound like the party of your dreams. This venue is perfect for small, non-traditional weddings and receptions that are looking to spice their day up! The couple that I filmed here had a blast (some clothes even came off). I would highly recommend this for any couple looking for a fun, unique, and exciting wedding venue!

2. INDY HOSTEL
This adorable wedding venue is tucked away in a historic neighborhood in Broad Ripple. With two buildings, a covered bar, a covered stage, and an outdoor ceremony space, this venue is a great spot for intimate weddings! They also have the ability to sleep up to 42 people, so you and your wedding part could have a great big sleepover the night before your wedding (which is what this couple did!) Their event space can comfortably seat 150 people, and they have an indoor common area that is great for dinners or a small indoor ceremony. Indy Hostel is located both along the Monon greenway, and a bus route that goes right into the city! There is also the lovely shops and bars of Broad Ripple all nearby. The wedding I filmed here was a an all locally sourced or queer sourced wedding. It was beautifully designed by Copper and Jade Events, and it was a smashing success!

3. Fountain Square Theatre
Fountain Square is one of my favorite spots in Indianapolis. This gorgeous theater opened in 1928, and still hosts swing dancing nights with live music! It can also be where you tie the knot with your loved one! A brilliant wedding and reception location, this theatre is right in the heart of Fountain Square (as one might expect). Their building has many other features such as Action & Atomic Duckpin Bowling, Fountainview Inn, Imbibe Lobby Bar & Game Room, and Rooftop Garden & Lounge. They have several floor plans to choose from on their website, and they can seat 150-350 guests! They also have a balcony space which is a perfect space for your introvert friends to hide in. Just make sure you tell your photographer and videographer to bring some lights, and the main ballroom is a little dim, but it also a total vibe.

4. Ivory Foundry
This new little space started up in the chaos of 2020, and has evolved beautifully since then! They have a capacity of 150, close parking, and they are located on the Old South side of Indy, just NW of Garfield Park! This place is perfect for small receptions or micro-weddings. They are family owned and operated, as well as proudly LGBTQ+ friendly! Though it may be somewhat unassuming from the outside, the inside is spacious, minimal, and industrial. The murals on the outside of the building are the perfect backdrop for some unique and fun wedding photos!

5. 1915 Room at Moontown Brewing Co.
Located just north outside of Indy, Moontown Brewing Co. is a fun, spunky spot to grab a bite and a pint, but did you know you can also get MARRIED there? They have a special room behind their usual storefront for events, and that room is BEAUTIFUL! The 1915 room at Moontown Brewing Co. is a fantastic space for a wedding with a little spice. With their chrome brewing equipment backdrop and high ceilings, they make a small party feel big! This venue has a capacity of 160, obviously fantastic beers and bar abilities, handmade wooden tables and chairs, and a top-notch Audio/Visual system. These folks have you covered. Above is a video I filmed for a couple who had their wedding here, and we had a blast. It was perfect for them! I highly recommend the place!
